we then moved up the hedge ,the sets here were overgrown but well used,we had two out of that one ,but lost three,

moved on a bit , passing some good, but overgrown sets ,before doing a ten holer that was not to hard to get at ,two bolted straight away then they killed ,normally the digging here is easy ,but the ground is that dry, you have to chip your way through ,about an hour later i broke through and my lad pulled out a dead rabbit and two ferrets ,there was allso a live rabbit backed up behind them

i was a bit tired and my hands were ripped up ,so we called it a day there and decided to mve away

we move up the road and did two open sets and got another eight rabbits , we took them down the road to a pub and dressed them out , they are on the menu here as ,organic, wild ,rabbit, locally sourced, served with seasonal ,vedge, and a lump of black pudding £17 .50.

And they get two dinners out of a rabbit.

Good read and pictures.

What is the steel bar used for if you don't mind me asking?

its a probe, you use it when you have allmost dug down to a kill ,you then push it through the soil to find the tube, they can save a lot of digging, makes a good walking stick and i allways carry rabbits on them too.
