How would you like to be taken out on a Deerstalking experience ?

If you decide to take up my offer you will need only the following equipment.

1 Tent and sleeping gear

warm clothes dont have to be camo but of a drab colour and pref silent and a decent pair of sturdy waterproof boots along with a change should you get wet.

The offer is for accompanying me whilst out stalking to learn the art of stalking, The Stalk will be in Dumfries and all I ask is you keep as quite as possible and listen to what I tell you and if we are lucky i hopefully will get you into a deer.

I could arrange to pick you up and drop you off as well at Crooklands Rounderbout Kendal

Well BASC wrote to me last week asking for further funds to help promote introducing young persons into the sport and with me being as tight as cramp money wise , some say i am as tight as a fishes arse but sometimes it lets a bit of water in and i got thinking as you do instead of donating money which could go absolutely anywhere swallowed up in administration etc . to do something actually positive and as i feel stalking needs some younger chaps involved i would actually get them involved and interested in a way and what better to take a youngster out especially a lad very much local and showing interest in shooting at least he might just want to take it up , the other thing is if hes being mentored it may as well be with someone like mesen with some experience under my belt than a gang of lads going out shooting at out they see and getting into all sorts of bother.

Personally I think we all could do something like this and introduce a newbie into the sport so i thought i would try set an example .

Come on lads do something positive and join the campaign to help a newcomer into your chosen sport.

Kind Regards

all

Good on you mate!!!

Shooting needs more like you.

The problem i see with shooting and stalking in particular is this............Is so expencive!! im 24 so still a youngen and like alot of youngsters, i find it hard to find a piece of land to shoot over. Its held quite close to the 'old boys' chest. there is nothing wrong with that, they have earnt it so they should enjoy there spoils. BUT!!! this means that people have to find payed stalking. Now payed stalking is bleeding expencive! You have to pay for the stalk, then pay for the trophy (if you choose that) then you have to pay for the carcus.

Espeshilly with all the modern distractions pulling the youth away from the sport being out priced of it is just another kick in the pants.

I have paid for one stalk (bagged myself a nice muntie doe) and the price was ok but anything more local starts getting pricey, im guessing its because down this way your after roe and fallow so the price goes up.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

So i think its a real good thing your doing mate and keep it up

Not exactly true my stalking actually only cost me little In fact I work my passage as it was.

In return for carrying out Wild Life Maintainance opening up rides and knocking back bracken etc i am given a place on the shoot as before due to it being over grown and unstalkable it is now open and deer control can now take place as before it could not so my rewards have been earned, I can take who I like and when I like for no fee the only condition thats imposed that if a person I take on a regular basis wishes to continue he or she must help in the work of the wildlife Program helping to clear rides etc. Its my belief that if such a person is really interest he or she would be only to willing to participate and rightfully earn his or her place. simple really.

No finance involved other than comitment

The outing will be from friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon in approx 14 days time :D

I will make it an open offer to any young person who would like to take up the opportunity for a weekend stalking experience, you never know it may be a chance for the right minded individual to get a foot hold into a sport that he could only dream about.

I will see how it goes initially and I may also extend the offer at a later date if its proves to be successful

Kind Regards

I and my mates are all greatly skilled with air rifles from just sitting in the back of our gardens with targets roughly 50-100yards and want to move onto small game so if anyone knows of anyone in cornwall that would give us permission please let me know.

Hi, we're having a sudden rat infestation on our small holding in North Cotswolds. Wondering if there are any people around with ratting dogs who want a bit of work?
