Out for a couple of hours this morning with my now 7 month old whippet pup.

She is understading ferreting and bunny ways every outing we have, a bit more each time. ;)

I did not use nets that much, left most holes open, as i was not ferreting seriousely, just a bit of craic and teaching the pup some lessons. :D

She did champion, and her marking is becoming pretty spot on.:clapper:

We did the first burry, i just stuck the hob in, who seemed to be more interested in shaging the facking grass around the hole, what with him being in heat ect, sex was on the brain

Rumble underground, brought the pups attention quick, then boom, out pops a big bunny, she coursed it, turned it once and it went straight down the hole :laugh: She stood looking at the hole till i came over and never took her eyes off it :icon_eek: down went the ferret again, but no bolt, for obviouse reasons. The hob came out of another hole, so i moved on.

The second bury, same proseudure, this time, when the bunny bolted, what took place was pretty spactacular, a nice course, the pup turning the bunny 4 times, across a big feild, she struck, got hold of its back legs, just above the hole, then just as she went to get a better grip, it went straight down, id say she was a wee bit pissed off.:laugh:

The morning was absulately gorgouse, lovely and warm, with a misty start, the sun feels like the summer today

We moved on and young ones started to bolt all over the place, but, she cought all 4 that bolted, 1 was half grown and she turned it twice and struck like a viper. :clapper: I love watching this bitch course, she is something else already.;) What a confidence booster after missing the other 2. :D

She has come along way, but, still lots to learn and all step by step, and the main thing is, i left, with her still keen as feck. ;)

Good luck :drink:

 Fecking farmer, evrytime i call him, his off to a sheep dog trail jigsaw.

But, she was in the feild next to sheep this morning and did not even bother looking at them that much, just a glance and back to the job at hand. ;)

Although, i must do it properly and take her up to the sheep farm, only then i will be for sure.

Will keep you all posted. :)

As you say, its the way she works that counts. ;)

I have seen both the parents and they look like whippets to me, but, their could be a throw back

Who care's as long as she's what you want and your'e happy with her: I've got a wee lurcher with no whippet in her, (that I know of, and I know the breeding 5 generations back) and she looks more whippety than yours!LOL
