Col_c88 41
I dunno about you guys but i have alot of trouble putting the collars on my ferrets.. they just move so much.. the adults arnt so bad now but still takes a while.. just wondering if there is any collars that clip instead of the belt style (like a backpack clipping system) that would fit the mk3 locating units... im so fed up of spending so long collaring up 4 ferrets.. they end up getting stressed and the longer it goes on the harder it becomes to fit them thanks Quote Link to post
joe14 98
You can get cat collars with clip buckles. You could just make them smaller. We just use ferretone to get collars on them, they dont even know the collars going on. Quote Link to post
muddy210 34
make the collars up on the largest hole slip over the head then tighten. get some ferretone and put the colars on then let them have the ferretone do this without going ferretingfor a few days they will get the idea of collar on i get a treat if mine see the collars they know they are going out and cant wait to get them on never have a problem collaring up Quote Link to post
Col_c88 41
I use the paste but as soon as that collar starts to move they freak out Quote Link to post

THE GRIFF 8
I bought some cheap puppy collars with the snap shut type fastener. Took the clips off them and put them on the deben collars using the same rivets deben use. I can adjust the length using the original buckles on the collars and just clip the collars on and off using the new clips. Quote Link to post
jac 12
kitten collars are a good fit on ferrets Quote Link to post
pauly58 12
I found it difficult to start with so I gave them a small saucer of milk while I put the collar on. Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
The gruff would you stick a pic up I know the clips you mean but can't visualise how you've done it. Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
you get the hang of it in the end pal, and the ferrets get used to it so it's not a big deal. don't know if I'd trust one of them elasticated kitten collars, wouldn't they keep slipping them off? Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
Yeah id of thought the elasticated ones would just come off. I agree with what's said above though, I think my ferrets look forward to it now. Liam Quote Link to post
