Could you live with an anti?

Recommended Posts

Was with one once. She said she was the type of person that accepted other peoples beliefs etc as long as she wasn't expected to change her feelings. It was obvious she hated what I was doing, then one day out of the blue, she screamed at me that I was a total f***ing phsyco who needed locking up now before I committed mass murder.

When I asked her what the f**k she was on about, she pointed to my bookcase which was full of books, some which I'd collected since early childhood, mostly natural history, Birds Mammals, Tree and Plant I.D, but also Terrier, Lurcher, trapping and shooting, and said 'You've obviously got a split personality and you like killing things'.

She was rapidly consigned to my history, and I found someone who never minds how many times I'm out shooting or hunting, and often comes out with the dogs, and has been Rabbit & Fox shooting with me. She also likes to eat what I catch.

On the down side, she refuses point blank to remove a Rat from one of the traps!

the other problem with living with someone like that, unless you 100% stick to the hunting laws, if it all goes sour it could REALLY go sour for you!!

aint that the truth haha my mate broke up with his psycho bitch other week.she cut up his clothes, passport driving liscence.and then stood in the street shouting about he grows weed.hand on heart if it had been me.id have walked over to her and knocked her clean out.

what's the saying....hell has no fury like a woman scorned.

dangerous species those chicks!

Gotta say, I was gonna wait for a few more replies but thats exactly how I feel Malt. Hunting/shooting/the country is my passion, I couldn't possibly enjoy life without it to some degree and there is

I do! been together 20 years. She is anti for the same reasons I am not. Does not agree with factory farming, couldn't stand to see an animal suffer. Couldn't kill anything. Her response to it is that

To be very honest mate, she was an intelligent and lovely woman. She was about 30. Her biggest priority was 'looking after the planet etc' and being morally happy with herself. She had been a veggie/v

im too stuck in my ways to date anyone who wasnt able to cope with me hunting, i do most of my butchering on the kitchen table ffs

an anti would have a meltdown

you've got an advantage though.....your partners are more than likely going to have common sense....we don't have that luxury :tongue2::laugh:

Its a real tough question, How well do we know anyone... ?? If she is a total out an out anti then NO why make life difficult,

But if she/he respects that its a why of life for you, And doesn't put pressure on you to change, then maybe just maybe it could work out...

All depends on her outlook to things in general...

if she doesn't wear any animal skins ie. leather, because of her views then you know your up againest something stubbern.... lol

Interesting views folks. Thanks for the replies.

I guess anti is a strong word, there are many people out there that don't understand how a person can enjoy hunting a wild animal regardless of the justification for it and I think thats the sort of person I'm refering to when I say 'soft core' anti. But hey all types of anti are up for debate, lol.

As long as the girl was accepting that this was my life whether she really agreed with it or not wouldnt bother me too much. But then I cant say Its ever been a test any of my relationships has had to stand. And as someone has already said, I would prefer them not be into hunting themselves, that would be a ball ache.

Dated and lived with a girl for a couple of years that when i met her was proper anti-hunting, and a vegan. But to be fair she was very level headed and coukd accept that me hunting and fishing had less environmental impact than me going down the shops and buying meet, so she was kind of ok about it all, ended up getting me to teach her how to fish.

as in course fishing or game fishing? quite a turnaround if she was a vegan and then went on to game fishing!

To be honest I think it's a phase that a lot of women go through, I know a few people (all female!) that started college and then all of a sudden they were veggies, for no real reason.............unsurprisingly all bar one now eat meat!

To be very honest mate, she was an intelligent and lovely woman. She was about 30. Her biggest priority was 'looking after the planet etc' and being morally happy with herself. She had been a veggie/vegan for a long long time. The thing is she hadn't really been around much hunting or the like. She started dating me, knowing i ate meat and didn't try to convert me at all (it helped she could cook spot on veggie food, currys etc). Like i said she was logical and intelligent so she saw the positive side of hunting/fishing to support yourself, rather then going down the shops. We had a lot of chats about it, and she understood where i was coming from, she just agreed to disagree about some stuff. When she needed to eat some fish etc due to some health issues (and getting pregnant) she asked me to teach her to fish. She has a dog now, and wants to learn how to catch a few animals to feed the mutt.

She's still a veggie though. . . . . . . although i have got a photo of her eating a chicken kebab
