hullhunter 219
hi all ive got two one year old bullx pups out of very good stuff vinny and ikky. ive just started taking them out i had vinny out for his first time lamping with an other dog the other week and soon as he seen a rabbit he was pulling like mad on the lead. he managed to slip the collar two times and catch 2 rabbits, i was not planning on slipping him this night but he was obviously keen as mustard so i gave him a few slips and he gave some good chases. then i took him out a few nights later on his own and he got two more so he is doing well. but the problem is ikky ive also had him out a few times with other dogs but he is just not interested at all when the other dogs are chasing he just stands there with no interest in whats going on. ive walked him up on squatters that ive had to kick up then let him go and he just still stands there. ive never had a dog that is not interested before so i dont have a clew what to do.i gave him a rabbit that my other dog got let it go he caught it with in 5 foot gave it one bite then left it. any advice, tips would be much appreciated. thanks hullhunter Quote Link to post

rapidjenky 97
my dog pup was like that mate, then one day out the blue he just decided he wanted to have a go. i really thought he would never be any good but he has surprised me. mine suddenly switched on at 10 months mate, showed no interest what so ever till then. maybe youll just have to wait it out mate. my little bitch has gone the other way, show alot of interest at a young age, had a few on the lamp and a couple that slipped out me hands threw the day and has no decided she`s not bothered anymore and has stopped showing interest. im really struggling with this one. rapidjenky 97
my next plan with her is just to keep her on the lead for a few weeks just watching other dogs run. been trying to get her to rag on dead bunnys and she is slightly better at mouthing them now. also planning to get her out ferreting and let her nail a few in the nets. first she killed them and brought them back, then caught them and they were alive and started to drop and chase them a few times, then she started to catch them drop them and walk away leaving them to keep running, then she started to run up to them stop and walk back to me. gave her a few very very easy slips and she just lets them go if she can be botherd to chase them. im sure ill get there in the end. like i said about my dog pup mate, he had no intrest in me, rabbits or doing anything. out ferreting he would curl up and go to sleep and let rabbits bolt past him without even a flinch. then just one day out the blue he became my best mate, followed me around (he used to me my other halfs dog) so i showed him a bunny and the rest is history. he would of been in a pet home months before in my missus haddent said she was keeping him so i could get stuffed lol. now he is the best dogs ive ever had. not that ive had many.
