Keeping dogs and spayed bitches together

Recommended Posts

I currently own 3 spayed bitches. I am going to get another lurcher pup and i usually buy bitches, but i was wondering how a dog would get on with them and visa versa. I Know if i kept my mums whippet up here it would bug the hell out them trying to mount them all the time. I have however kept 3 dogs and one spayed bitch together no problems in the past.

Any comments would be appreciated.

ive got 2 dogs and a full bitch here never have any problems, so why would you think you will have problems ? :hmm:

Whippet i had in the past would mount anything and my mothers is the same, it follows my bitches all over when out just trying to get his leg over. My full border collie and lurcher never bothered with the the old spayed collie bitch. Maybe its a whippet thing.

Her weight is not too much of a problem, put it abit on now she's older (9), but dont think spaying any

of my dogs has affected their weight a great deal.

My whippet never bothers my neutered bitches, unless one of them gets wet, he then turns into a sex pest for the whole day...very bizarre. Apart from him I've never had a dog bother the bitches.

None of my dogs have gained weight after being neutered, if any dog neutered or not gains weight it is down to the amount of feed/levels of exercise

I keep 1 entire dog, with a spayed bitch and 2 neutered dogs, they regulary run and kennel with 3 entire bitches . . . . . never have a problem. If the whippet hassles the bitches too much, they should tell him, and leave them to it. A puppy even more so, let it learn its place in the pack, aslong as the bitches aren't overly aggressive, i can't see it being a problem. :victory:
