Course description

This course consists of training in the NPTC Operation of chainsaws CS30. It includes CS30.1 includes: PPE and Risk assessment; dismantling and check the saw, saw safety, test for correct operation, sprocket and chain types, emergency planning, servicing the bar, chain sharpening, chain and bar identification, fuel and air filters; CS30.2 includes: PPE, assessment of tension compression forces, cross cutting techniques, correct use of associated tools, fuel and lubricants, cold and warm starting, boring, freeing trapped freed saws, safe lifting and correct stance. On completion of course, participants will also receive a College Certificate of Attendance.

For those in the north, Myerscough agricultural college in Preston run courses, and they're on my place of work some weeks doing these courses. I took my course in a forestry above Holmfirth in West Yorks and it was run by a decent fella called Tim Kirk.
