MissRhianL 70
Iv been told when you buy new snares to dip or rub them into somethin as it gives off a diff smell to the rabbits an lessen your chances of catchin. I have seen the warrener boil parsley an have also heard about dippin the snare into vinegar, whether it works or not i dont know. Do u put them straight out or soak them first? Quote Link to post
tegater 789
I boil mine and then leave outside for a few days and then put them out, I never rub them in anything or do anything else to them. What you have to remember, is that anything that smells different, or is out of place, to a rabbit or fox, will draw its attention, if it isnt running into it. Totally neutral scent would be the ideal. I liken it to go out for a walk and smelling something unusual. I personally often stop, and try and work out what it is. Hope this helps. Quote Link to post

micky 3,325
dont bother, set them in the morning, then any scent will gone before dusk, setting height and placement are more important, parsely is better on fish than snares. 1 Quote Link to post

Got to agree with this...out of the packet and into the field...let them weather catching rabbits if they need to weather at all......like he said , save the parsely for the fish Quote Link to post
