mattydski 560
I have been asked for a couple of years to help out at the BASC young shot days in Scotland. Well this year do to unusually high peer pressure, I gave in Now its no secret that I am not BASC's biggest fan, but I do agree with their young Shots program of events, and the Gentlemen organising the event from the Scottish Ferret club is a friend of of mine who I shoot with in the winter. So last Sunday was d-day, and I dutifully turned up with a few ferrets and nets, but for the first time in years, left my dog at home..... (I felt naked, those who know me know my dogs go everywhere with me) I even managed to drag another mate along to help out. Anyway, to cut a long story short.......... we had a great day. The main emphasis was to fine tune the setting of nets, necking rabbits, ferret care and husbandry, gutting rabbits, use of locators...... Some of the children had been ferreting for a couple of years, so it was an informal day... Wasn't a huge bag, but it was necessary pest control at the end of the day. I have put a link up to the photos which went up on the BASC website today... I would strongly urge any of you who get asked to participate in any of these events to get stuck in, and help out... Our only payment, was dinner with the lovely Nicole from BASC who was an exceptional host. I have agreed to help out next year......... (on the understanding ma dogs get an invite..........which they have ) enjoy the pics... (please note, the pictures are on the general BASC website, so I am not posting pictures of children without their parents consent.) http://www.basc.org....et-day-2011.cfm Even ma landrover is famous now Quote Link to post
