frankel 2,123
.at about 11.30pm on sunday night myself and my dad loaded Don & Swift plus all the gear into the motor and headed off, when we arrived at our destination the rain had really set in,it was so black you couldn't see your hand if you placed it an inch from your face!! 1st field and i was wet through to the bone!!! Swift to run first and she duly missed all four she was sent on!!...agghh!! Anyways,we started to catch one or two more so with the Don dog rather than Swift,i thought pretty much that the terrain wasn't going to suit her style but she still was managing to add to the bag all the while,1st drop off after one field yielded 10 bunnies,2nd drop after 3 fields led to another 9 bunnies making a total of 19,we then made our way to 3 more fields running adjacent to those we had just lamped, the rain was awful and to add to it there was now a dense fog which pretty much put a stop to the ongoing rabbit cull lol..we continued on,wet through to the bone with the dogs still adding to the tally,we eventually called it a night for no other reason than being soaked beyond reason lol..we dropped what rabbits we had and made to the car where my dad changed into dry clothes and trainers but i brought no clean clothes as i thought the gortex would hold the rain off but NO i had to travel in jst my boxer shorts haha..on picking the bunnies up and having a tally up we found that the final score was 43 rabbs,i'm adamant that we would of reached 60+ with ease if we had the same drive as the dogs showed lol but it wasn't to be,we were happy enough with the score,Don ran superb on "challenging" ground which played more to his strengths than it did Swift? His retrieveing wasn't nowhere near good enough though,he'd carry them right back then be reluctant to give them up with all this head turning away!!.Jealous of Swift his kennel companion or not i'm not so sure?
