springer spaniel, marking dog?

whats peoples thoughts on using a springer spaniel 4 marking? as i av a 6 month old bitch, an im after a marking dog prefably small 1 but dont want to go art an rush buy 1 an it bin useless, so gonna gi mi springer a few trys

It should certainly mark occupied burrows without too much difficulty and possibly be soft mouthed enough to hold a netted rabbit.

Aye, most dogs will start marking if you show them enough buries. My mums big stupid Irish Setter x Golden Retriever marks well!

i use my mates sometimes and it marks rabbits in all the time and its never been wrong so far.

They make very good marking dogs mate

Very good marking dogs, but be aware that using them to grab netted rabbits etc might cause you some problems if you plan to shoot over it in future.

My spaniel marks like the one in the picture thats why i prefer the lurcher she just lifts one foot and isn't in contact with the burrows
