Ideation 8,217
Didn't get home from work till fairly late today, but decided to still take a ferret and a few nets a long for the dogs walk. Went to check out a spot for saturdays next trip with Johnnyboy68. There seemed to be a few about, the dog was marking a few a long the way and put a few to ground in the cover and hedges, which i left for the weekend. On the way back to the car, got chatting with a nice old lady who said she had a few in her garden. And would i clear them sometime? The dog was having a play with her dog and a nose about and started marking a set on the edge of her lawn, a half dozen holes, so said i'd get rid of one at least for her now if she liked. Be my guest she said. Nets on, ferret in, rabbit out. One fairly impressed old lady. Went home via town and hunted up a chinese and some beer. atb. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,217
Forgot to mention, the fastener on my bloody trousers broke, first fence i jumped and they were falling down for a good half hour until i realised i could use a poke net as a belt, a bright blue one at that. Must have looked like bloody compo to the old lady! Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,217
Cheers guys. I have a half idea to try to catch at least one rabbit everyday this month, with the ferrets. As i have to walk the dog, so might as well take a stinker a long. Although i will probably not keep it up for the whole month, we shall see. It's funny, the 1,2,3's soon add up. Think i'm around the 45 mark for just under the last 2 weeks, with only one trip longer than 2 hours. And most of the time has just been walking and messing about rather than actual ferreting. And it gets the ferrets and dog fitter and sharper for when the cover dies back and we can hit them properly. Quote Link to post
