RossM 8,149
now tonight is my first night out lamping of the season, whilst out walking the dogs this morning i usually slip the lead off and let them have a burn in the big field along from me. Today though i wasnt too sure if i should coz im taking my older bitch tonight (shes 7) and dont want to burn her out, before i never really thought about it would excersise them the same every day and work them at night regardless but because shes not as young as she used to be i kept her on the lead and let the others off, this is the first time this has ever crossed my mind. she wanted to go but i decided against it, now i know shes not old but shes not exactly starting her working career is she? my question is what do others do excersise wise the day of the nights work? bird 10,014
if i was lamping that = night, i would just let empty out, and just nice stready walk on the(lead)for about 1/2 hour, then back home..Leave them there in the kennel, and when you go out that night they should be well up for it. How did you do it with your 7 year old dog then,? if it was ok do the same with your other dog.! Quote Link to post

rocky1 942
about 3 hours before i go out and take for a little walk of the lead just 2 emty bowles and a strench and then nothing else till first slip Quote Link to post
TOMO 29,453
i think it depends on what you expect to run,, if you expect to go out and catch big numbers, 20 and above ect,, then just a walk to empty,,, but if your just running a dozen or so , exercize as normal. Quote Link to post

But if i am going just for a hour or two i still have them out letting them stretch there legs or behind me on the bike.. Quote Link to post
