Capable youngsters can do this at first, so excited about a big catch, the retrieve (or the stop and kill) can go completely out the window. Had a half cross once that would do it but only in the presence of his uncle, if we ran 'em together and mine caught, he was off, running hell for leather, growling his uncle off and taking some stick off the fox too, not that that botherd him but it was a pain in the arse, especially if there were another pair of eyes in the field. Best job in that case, single slips for the night or take out different dogs. Yer, Simo's right too.... Could be much worse..! 1 Quote Link to post
