Wasp nest Q

If you cannot access the entrance of a nest from the outside, eg awkward roofing, but you can access it from the attic for example is it sensible to push the tip of a dust stick into the nest and pump and do you get a load of wasps coming out?

Just asking in case I come across this situation.

Yes thats the way,might get a few wasps coming out the hole you made.But if the nest is lower than your dustic probe you might struggle getting enough ficam in as the powder falls towards the filling cap,hth.

fill the pot of the dust stick up with fd, then pull the probe out half way, it comes out ok then, if you are doing this in loft put ur torch away from you, they will go for the torch so u can crack on

If you use a torch use a red one. The back-light off your bicycle will do. If you are worried that your Trusty Dusty will malfunction at close range don't use it. Simply tape a 35mm camera film canister or plasic egg cup to the end of your pole . Pop a bit of ficam in it , push it into the centre of the nest,jiggle ,remove ,retreat .

Get yourself a dr5 or a pa2, a quick 2 second blast and your out of there, i started with a dustik but soon changed i hardly use it now.
