wardy.s.s. 3
Try getting some pasta down it mate that puts weight on dogs!
chook1 184
Dog or bitch? as bitch's can sometimes be off if there coming in to season or after a season and yes deerhounds can be finicky eaters, but ive found with mine shes more eager to eat if shes had a good run, although mine wont eat mince meat, so you could try giving something different and try soaking the dry and mixing it well, if you dont already do so. For putting weight on you could try satin ball's. Satin Balls This recipe is intended to be fed raw. 10lb hamburger meat 1 jar wheat germ 1 lg box of oatmeal (uncooked) 1 1/4 Cup vegetable oil 10 eggs 10 sm pkgs unflavoured gelatin 1 1/4 Cup unflavoured molasses A pinch of salt 1 lg box Total cereal (ie cornflakes) (You may also add a pinch of garlic powder to add flavour) Mix all ingredients together well, feed how much you need to feed and stick the rest in the frezer, this is for putting weight on and some dogs do so quite quickly, so you may need to just watch how much you give. 6pack 60
You could try adding another meal in the day. Also fattier foods, tripe or lamb belly as suggested.
cocker 2,655
beast tripe, mutton, and clabbered milk will pile the weight on it,
LucyLurcher 3
We find if we're trying to get the weight on, especially after a season, that minced tripe and chicken mix works well with their normal biscuits. We boil it up and then let it cool and pour the "juice" on their biscuits as well.

mynirvana 1
if you know anyone at the hunt kennels ask them for some good fatty mutton, older beef or horse. Cant beat good flesh in my opinion. The oils in the meat is also vey good for there joints
