One of the small ferrets that I bred this year

Recommended Posts

We have a little sandy Jill that is just a little bit bigger than that one and she is getting on for 20 weeks old now, she is an absolute demon, she goes like lightning, her brother is the total opposite, he is absolutely massive and will probably be one of the biggest hobs we have ever had, you need 2 hands to hold him, where as she just fits in the palm of your hand

I prefer a medium size Ferret, not too big, but able to stand a kick from a large Doe or buck Rabbit, and if I have to dig I prefer a Ferret that can hold on and keep it there, till I get down, don't see the point in breeding these really small types, also if it was your game, what would they be like if face to face with an angry Doe Rat?

There was a thread on this a while back. Few of the lads said they had seen a micro ferret working. Said that a few rabbits had bolted with the ferret attached to it's rear end. I've no experience of these but would imagine the ferret would get dragged about, whereas bigger ferrets would take some stick. Each to their own I suppose. Like I said, I've had no experience of these types but just what others have said in past posts.
