Penda 3,366
I'm curious to know why people prefer to use the bull x when in my opinion a good collie grey is capable of doing the same job I'm not knocking the cross just not my cup of tea I'd like to know a bit about the history of the cross when it was introduced etc this isn't a topic for shit talk I'd like some sensible replies and like I said everyone to there own I'm not knocking the breed. not been funny mate but theres no collie greyhound in the u,k that can can do every think a good bull breed dose no chance thats true stag i think people who have say collie crosses can do the same as a bull cross have probably never actually saw one work mate Quote Link to post
Casso 1,261
i dont understand why it just have to be bull collie or saluki,,a lot of the best runners have bits of allsorts thrown in there,,and the best ones usually have the best qualities of a lot of breeds,, bulls do have a lot to offer in terms of drive and a lot of lads are drawn towards that trait in a dog and maybe as a reflection of how they see themselves or how they would like to be ,however they may not agree with that statement ,if their honest with themselves ,thats where it stems from ,, it would be interesting to see the breakdown of various breeds and their owners on here and what are the qualities in the dog that attracted the owner,, Quote Link to post
iceman001979 1,316
if you get a good one there well worth it but if they jack on things that bit back then what do you do because there no good for hares or rabbits that is why there is so much for sale in gum tree done deal etc etc but as l said if you get a good one that can do the job you be happy man Quote Link to post

Guest born to run1083
at the end of the day bull adds tenacity, which is the main factor on bigger quarry to go with there higher jaw power but to say there the only dog capable is stupidity. seen many other crosses mix with all quarry single handed and I'm sure many other people have to and probly laughing at this topic to, alot of you said a good bull cross will beat any collie on all quarry, so collies arnt good rabbit dogs, good hare dogs, good deer dogs, some good fox dogs and some good word deleted you f*****g idiot when bull crosses are great rabbit dogs, great hare dogs, great deer dogs and great teeth dogs don't think all that is true is it really in my view collie crosses are more versatile then a bull cross. bull crosses have there uses for teeth but ain't no where near the best for anything else, horses for courses lads Quote Link to post

Guest big e
Would I be right to say they were bred for they're drawing power, to work alongside terriers or bred for the lamp on foxes etc seen an old vid tape pre ban 1990s made ni big white bull cross used for drawing unbelievable power but I'm not into digging myself.
