Guest born to run1083 Posted July 17, 2011 Report Share Posted July 17, 2011 bird came over today to have a stroll out with me, jonny boy68 and ideation. to meet all our dogs and for me to finally meet bryn and tod and finally put a face to rays name lol all tho there wasnt much about enjoyed the banter and general chatter off the fine company of the other members i got to walk out with, have to say both gem and bryn the seasoned dogs performed at there usual best and worked the thick cover well, when there was quarry to find, they found it and bolted it well. half way round we had a sit by a lake for the dogs to horse around lol and enjoy there r+r with fello work mates. so thanks bird,jonny boy68 and ideation to a much enjoyed walk out few pics off the i phone 1 Quote Link to post

johnny boy68 11,726 Posted July 17, 2011 Report Share Posted July 17, 2011 It was nice to meet Ray(bird) who I must say is one of the most genuine fella's you could ever meet,a real nice guy. Bryn is much better looking in the flesh,pictures don't do the dog justice a real strong well put together 1st x collie/grey he's a credit to Ray and I still stand by what I've always said but even more so now"he's the best example of a 1st x I've seen." He works cover real well and along with my old bitch I think in the season they could make a real serious dent in the local bunny population. Tod also is a fine animal(all 75lbs of him )as strong as a ox with loads of character and for a big dog he's really athletic,he jumps like a steeple-chaser and as a real turn of pace for a big dog that is quite decieving. I really look forward to seeing them both in a proper working enviroment rather than just a walk out.The three pups(Tod,Luna & Missy)were just pups most of the day though when there was stuff about they did switch on. Ideation 8,217 Posted July 17, 2011 Report Share Posted July 17, 2011 (edited) It was a cracking day, with really top blokes. Johnny was his usual cheerful self, and Gem was working like a dream. It was great to meet Bird/Ray, a true gentleman and an extremely knowledgable bloke, it's a shame there are not more like him. Brilliant to finally meet Todd and Bryn. Bryn was, as said, even more impressive in the flesh, a cracking dog in every sense. Todd was far more agile and racy than i had imagined, good turn of speed, and clearing gates with ease. Also the most cheerful dog i have met in a while. He was a great advert for his kind when he met the many pet dogs along the route. BTR, another great lad and a pleasure to meet, and i'm sure there will be many more hunting trips with him in the not too distant future, good little bitch, even if she had to spend most of her day trying to avoid getting raped by Todd! 8.5 hours walking, and i enjoyed every minute. Oh and we almost forgot the panther we think we might have spotted, but sadly only got a glimpse. Edited July 17, 2011 by Ideation Quote Link to post
