Seriously though, I was camping oot last week and the mate and me used Avon skin so soft lol it seems to work  Tyso sells it I believe

AYe, works a treat as a repellant.

Funnily enough was just having a conversation about this with someone recently. They used it on their horse after all else had failed, it worked but proved too expensive to keep using it

The dugs were getting annoyed so I blew the citronela candle oot, waited until the wax cooled and dabbed it oan their heids, that seemed to work as well lol

I actually found out the hard way that if the weather is humid enough the only thing that can save you from the dreaded midge is a midge net especially if you are active as either your sweat either washes the formula away or some other chemical that comes out with the sweat overrides the formulas therefore attracting the midges againthumbs.gif

cheers Callum

If you can get some decent DEET. e.g. the stuff so concentrated it melts plastic then you wont get bitten at all providing you completely cover yourself in it. Problem is it only masks your smell so if you miss an area you will still get bitten.

I don't even know if you can still purchase it.

my father spent 25yrs in the british army serving in hereford and travelled the world.

the tip he gave me was to light a cigarette and hold it as close to the bite, just so you can feel it burning but only for a couple of seconds.

go try it and let us know... it works a treat! :victory:

[bANNED TEXT] twixt mi thighs, i dont think so

as i said, dont dab so you literally burn your skin, hold the cigarette as near to the bite as possible..

i swear its instant relief from itching...

someone try it FFS..

Used to do this with blackfly and horsefly bites back home - as well as regular mozzy bites. There's nowt for a buggy experience like Cottage Country in Ontario.

Sounds daft but it really does work. Unless you're drunk :icon_eek:
