Buster321c 1,010
I slipped the other day and the gun came out of my hand . Its left a few scratches on the stock .Now although its nice to have a `mint` gun , its not always that easy if its a hunting gun , that combined with a clumsy **** and here`s the result ! - Now what i want to know is , whats the best method of attack ? Its only ever had CCL conditionong oil on it ( from me anyway ) so im thinking that wire wool with some CCL ?? Ide hate to bugger it up , so can some of the wood workers and cabinet makers suggest anything please ? Buster the clumsy :? Quote Link to post
Sweeney-Todd 208
Wello Buster. What a bummer mate, the scratches dont look that deep in the picture.....bonus. Im no cabinet maker, but.... I would go the 1000 grade wire wool and stock oil route as you have already mentioned. Bit of time and patience should see the back of them. Good luck with it..............clumsey get!!! ATB. Bill. stealthy1 3,964
It still makes me say ba****d when I scratch my HW100, even though it has at least 30 I borowed some coloured wax from a mate, put it on, leave it 30 mins, buff it up, job done, I didn't want to give it back Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
As above. Wire wool soaked in your wood oil and gently rub in the direction of the grain It's a bugger when that happens, I did exactly the same thing to my 90 a couple of weeks ago Quote Link to post
