I was talking to a man who had a gun shop in a local village, who retired recently and he has a beautiful house and a lot of land around it which he likes to keep to himself or friends whom he invites up for an occassional shot. He was watching out the front window one evening and spotted a bright light coming up the road towards his home which alarmed him. He waited until the vehicle was adjacent to his home and stepped out and stopped it. What are yous at he asked. We are from Queens university in Belfast, doing a count on hares in the ----------- area and we saw 5 hares in that field there beside your home. I dont think so said my friend. Oh yes said the futuristic professor. My friend said, Well show me these 5 Hares then. OK walk down to that field and I will. Reaching the gate the student said look, 1 2 3 4 5. My friend said Wise up son, they are rabbits.

baw 4,360
30 hares in 5 fields!!! I can feel myself drooling at the thought. Doing well to see 30 rabbits about here. In saying that, there seems to be signs the rabbits are improving but how many summers do we see that only for mixy to take it's toll
