sibling rivalry help

as of yesterday 2 bitch pups have started fighting, the alpha bitch pup has had her ass kicked by the runt of the litter who has just snapped... lost it, is out to kill her larger sibling, they are 10wks, ive split them up after the last fight there was blood everywhere and the runt locked on to her sisters chest,

ive seen this before with male pups from the sires side but they were a bit older before these fights turned nasty.

 

is there any way i can solve this problem or should i resign myself to the idea they will always have to be kept seperate?

you become the alpha female feed tham with you there deciding who feeds first make them realise no point fighting for position as you and only you are boss dog

I've found with terriers, once they make the decision to hate each other they never forget, you can do all the dominance training in the world, it may make them behave better but it will always be there and just takes one incident to kick them off again. Never ever leave them together unattended.

I have also found bitches that do it are much worse than males.

funny thing is, ive sorted this problem many times with older pups and adult dogs

guess its cause they are tiny pups its thrown me off a bit, time for me to get strict with them

ive never seen such hatred in pups of this age before, it all started when the middle bitch was removed from the litter as she was sick with gastroenteritus (still is but shes recovering)

i now have 2 pups in sick-bay, im going to try the dominance thing, ive done it successfully with adult patterdales. see how i get on, if it doesnt work the runt will have to be kenneled seperately

I am very much the dominant bitch here, have to be with various 'types' all living together. I like to think i am quite clued up with regard to my pack and how they interact, spot warning signs etc.

 

Then one day i came home to a dead terrier, and i would not wish that on my worst enemy.

 

It can just happen out of the blue with dogs who have lived together in harmony for several years, at least you have had the warning that things are not going to be rosy between them

the 2 of them wont be left alone together again, ive dogs that hate the sight of each other but co-exist peacefully when im around and can be exercised together. its just one of those things, i guess i'll have to build an extra kennel and run

Had a similar thing between two Lakie sisters: I got rid of one: for me, life's too short to forever be worrying about making sure that two dogs which hate each other aren't allowed to get together even for a second.
