tote 870
Good question snoopdog, not sure about lurchers, but in greyhound racing a dog can run in a puppy race up untill it is 2 years old.
Ossie 11
i've always been told that you can't consider a running dog full grown til it's 2. they're supposed to calm down around that time. only another 6 months to go with my boy... can't wait!
skycat 6,174
It depends a lot on the type of dog too: small ones like Bed/Whips etc are physically mature much earlier than big ones like Deer crosses. Mentally it depends as well on the make up of the dog. My own line aren't really mature mentally until about 2 1/2 years, though they're doing the biz long before that on rabbits and general hunting. Personally I would say mine are pups until the are 18 months or so. They are medium sized (23-25") lurcher to lurcher.

Kay 3,709
My lurcher was around 2 ish when he calmed down enough to not be a complete nucence of the lead, he was about 3 when he stopped chewing the house it gets a bit tiresome having to but new sofas & internal doors after the bugger had eaten them, oh and a cat flap & hundreds of other things he chewed or ate, how he lived beond 3 is a mystery, never had a mins bother with him after 3 yrs old this is him with my eldest son taken about 4 yrs ago, sadly he was killed some yrs ago after a firework was let off & he gt run over
