Lost the take down a male deer from what l heard that night he was a good deer and fox dog. Tyla 3,179
One ours is partially sighted in on eye after getting a thorn through the lense, it ruined this strike for a while but hes just as good as ever now after some time to get used to it Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
I've seen two coursing dogs with only one eye. One lost her eye as a youngster and she ran and caught well. The other lost his eye later on in life: he was never the best dog in the world but once he'd got used to only one eye he ran as well as he had ever done: was a good hearted dog, no world beater but game as they come and he got used to only one eye, though you could see how he always turned the hare to his good side for the catch. bush wacker 77
with one eye you dont lose a lot of vision just a bit of side vision and things seem a bit closer than they are.it took me about 3 month to judge distances again so i imagine a dog would be the same just give it time to adjust Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
Think Bosun on here has a dog with only one eye They cope well... Provided you are on good ground and are very hazard free and you need to expect that a turn, on the blind side, can cost you a catch on occasion. Quote Link to post
