An Evenings Stalking.

Recommended Posts

Hi Lads,

Just got in from a rather pleasent evening out stalking. Arrived on permission at about 1900hrs, parked, loaded the R10, checked zero and I was away.

It was a nice evening out with a slight breeze, so I made sure I was down wind of the 'hotspots'. I could see a few bunnies grazing at about 100yds. I stalked low and slow, but they looked a bit twitchy so settled for about 35yds. I lay prone utilising the bipod, allowed for windage and holdover, picked a nice 3/4 grown, and sent the pellet on its trajectory to its target. It struck home nicely in the kill zone.

Stalking to the next warren I could see a lot of kits grazing in the evening sun. Now, Im not a fan of taking kits, but under the instructions of the farmer to get the numbers down, I shot two in quick succesion. Again about 35yds, dropped one, reloaded, and dropped the other. The R10 really is quiet with the Weihrauch silencer on. It has allowed me a few follow up shots so far this year.

I decided to lye in position, a slight dip in the ground 30yds from the warren. I waited a further 20 mins and picked off a couple of adults.

A few pics.

All in all a pleasent evening out with 3 bunnies for the pot, and 2 kits for the ferrets.

Kind Regards,

Mikey.

Cheers Simon,

Yes the R10 is a lovely rifle, and fits me like a glove, and is doing a great job of filling the game bag

But........ I am missing the TX200HC!! I will definately own one again in the future.

Thanks Bill, Sadly have let the ferts go to a mate off here. I cant give them the time they deserve due to work commitments. But I did treat them to a kit last night as a good bye meal

Kind Regards,

Mikey.
