rabbit slayer 22
Was out walking my young russel this evening knocking about some cover for the lurcher. I could see the lurcher marking a hole under an old 20ft container. I could see the terrier taking a drag in the direction the lurcher was, he had deaf ear syndrome and failed to come back. He is only a young dog 8-9month old . By the time i got to the mark he was baying steady with the lurcher standing ready for a possible bolt. At first i thought the lurcher has perhaps run a charlie under there, but to my suprise a big black ferrel cat bolted from the side with the terrier just behind it. It tried to make good its escape but didnt stand much of a chance with a determind lurcher hot on its tail. It was caught and dispatched. Just wondering if any other lads got stories of digging or bolting ferrels cats. Quote Link to post

Guest busterdog
I've bolted a few cats in my time and the odd polecat but the strangest i've heard is when Eddie H from Stoke dug a big red Collie from an earth near Leek, there was some big names with him that day and their dogs took turns in doing a minute or two baying or marking. No one could make any sense of what was happening untill Eddie dropped his dog in and they got a steady mark, as you can imagine Eddies chest was well and truly out, that is untill they broke through to a big red collie lol. You've got to give it to him he still laughs his knackers off when he tells you the story. Quote Link to post
