Howdy folks....

 

Well after doing a deal with Rushty off here I'm now the proud owner of a .22 HW100 Sporter with an awesome looking walnut stock & another Yukon Sentinel NV scope.

The guy is a true gent and I'd gladly deal with him again. He even went as far as to arrange a rat shoot for me n wor kid so I could test the rifle and it performed great with us both taking about a dozen rats in about an hour.

 

Here it is.....

 

 

and the lovely walnut stock...

 

When I got it home I noticed a few rust marks on the barrel so set about straight away curing the disease by a basic strip....

 

 

removing the barrelband I found this ugly stuff....

 

 

....which had pitted a little so out came the tinfoil and WD40 and after 10mins or so hard scrubbing it was gone....

I used Bisley Cold Gun Blue to try and reach an acceptable finish....

 

 

and ended up with this....

 

 

I then gave the barrel a pullthrough and I'm pleased I did......

 

Before on the left......after 3-4 pulls of lint free cloth........then a light mineral oil ran through and dried off by pulling a clean rag through (right hand side rag)

 

 

It now shoots at a VERY consistent average of 11.5ftlbs using AAF but I'll be trying the Daystate Rangemaster through it to zero the same as my other HW

 

All I need now is to get some bunnies/pests in the bag!

your not wrong mate top bloke indeed welcome into his house with coffee done the deal then off for an hours shoot on his ratting permission (which i might add wow its one of them permissions were no matter how many you shoot theres 100 more to replace it lol)
