johnny boy68 11,726
Fun and Killing should never be associated with each other..............THE GRIFF you come across as a bit of a smug feckin shooter! I use the word 'fun' meaning I enjoy beeing out in the field(summer/winter/whenever). If I had used the same words in regards to winter shooting or winter ferreting then chances are nobody would have commented. I dont understand what you mean by 'smug shooter.' As this is someone elses thread about a day out and not a thread about me controling rabbits during the summer perhaps you can explain what you mean in a private message. No need for pm mate I think your smug the way you throw the fun word around when associating it with killing when it shouldn't be.The fun word makes you sound like a young thrill killer and they're the type of people hunting don't need in this current climate...........regardless if your killing vermin or not. THE GRIFF 8
I go out in my boat because it's fun, I go fishing because it's fun, it's a figure of speech, I do things I enjoy and hunting, shooting, ferreting, fishing are all my hobbies. The top and bottom of it is you don't agree with hunting/culling in the summer, that's fine, that's why we have open forums to discuss things. I new someone would strongly disagree with me that's why I posted my opinion, it has kept me occupied at work for the last hour having a debate about it. Going home now to sort out my nets. Ideation 8,217
Well didn't this get emotional. Johnny and i have had this conversation a number of times. Hunting is great, and a way of life, and a love. But anyone who really 'enjoys' the killing, is somewhat questionable. Someone smarter than me once said, some men hunt to have killed and other kill to have hunted. Quote Link to post
THE GRIFF 8
It seems words can easily be twisted when having a debate. Just to clarify I aren't some 'smug blood thirsty dick head' that enjoys killing anything that moves, I always respect my quarry, the land I am on and all other aspects of the sport. Just to clarify what I meant using words such as enjoy and fun. I enjoy myself when out fishing, ferreting and shooting. I don't particually enjoy killing a rabbit any more than I do smacking a a trout over the head with a headache stick, but it's part of a sport that I love and has to be done. Quote Link to post
