how long ago was them took mate??

2007/8 mate, the main streets are pretty glitzy and all patched up and its very western in parts of the capitol, but go beyond the main drag and it's still f****d, its been getting better tho. The red spoldge is a 'Sarajevo rose' which is where they fill the shell blasts with red paint for remembrance. Been going there a lot since quite soon after the war and its a f*****g crazy and amazing place. sad tho.

You have some interesting shots there, was it just tourism or were you involved in some way with that war.......or do I mind my own f*****g business! LOL

Worked with a guy last summer who was a major in the army out there at that time and he had some pretty horrific tales to tell.

yea it was a brutal war that one.there were horror stories on both sides.some think it could flare back up just as quick.they still hate each other with a passion.

It's still a f****d up place mate. Crazy shit, like the kids from different 'races' are educated separately, hows that meant to bring folk together. And lots, lots more.

But still probably my fave place in the world and somewhere i could go with nothing and first place i went, find a meal, a drink and a place to stay, just because they are like that.

Edited to add - mind you i DO, have some rather interesting friends there.

Thanks for sharing Jai. :good: My younger cousin spent his 18 birthday and NYE 1999/2000 there as a tank driver. (Kosavo) The fighting was all but over there then, but he said there was still a very nasty atmosphere about the place.
