white hares

i have notice a few white hares around this year all in all about 6 or 7 and before this year i've only ever seen 1 before is this down to the amount of snow we've had this winter and i never sliped me dog on any of them because years ago my grandfather told me it was bad luck to kill a white hare .Just wondering has anyone else noticed a few about

i if there is a lot of snow they will come down from the hill,s for easier feeding ect

It's obvious what's caused that.......... it heard Toby was coming with his dogs, turned white over night

no mate i havnt seen a white hare but i have seen a jet black one with white under his tail and thy r suppost to be well rare

i'd like to come across him he would have to be mounted if he was caught

its roughly 10 year cycles pal.they peak,then slowly decline in numbers.atb ,B

I was watching one through the binos while Beagling this season, and as myself and another lad moved to walk further up to get a better view, another got up no less than 20 yards in front of us and sat for a few seconds before moving on. A nice sight which I havent saw in a while :victory:
