Albino/polecat

What type of ferrets do you boys prefer to work? Poleys,albinos, silvers etc. Or do you not think it matters? Banjo

Some folks prefer white so they can spot them in cover/bushes etc,I usually have a dug beside me though which will alert you to a stray ferret,I prefer polecats purely for looks,not keen on red eyes

Thanks for reply. Seem to hear alot about poleys been best. But some favour albinos for working round cover etc.

Poleys for me, purely because I like them, and nothing to do with what I think is the best working colour Plus, albinos are only white polecats anyway

Colour doesn't make any difference to working ability, but that said my best three ferrets over the last 25+ years would all have

been albinos. I've had some good poleys but some of the albinos have been top class.

albinos for me,all day,easyer to see in thick cover,but colour got nothing to do with working ability

All things being equal and assuming they all work just as well...I like albinos due to their visibility.

I'm not a fan of dark eyed whites or silvers, not knocking the ability of a decent one but so many people breed them just for their colour that I have found it hard to get good healthy working ones. Just my experiences but I will stick with albinos and poleys.
