shamus 36
While ferreting today, i was marking what i thought was my ferret, stock still at 16 feet, when he appeared at the other end of the warren. My first thought was that he'd dropped his collar but he had'nt. Tried my spare box and my mates and all gave the same reading, does anyone know what might cause this? No-one else is supposed to have ferreted here and there were no visible power cables or anything. My boxes and collars are mk3 and my mates is mk3m. Quote Link to post

shamus 36
i did think that but it's in a rockpile at the edge of the field, could'nt get down at all. Quote Link to post
robbo 873
was there any sheep fencing, electric fencing or anything like that in the area. this can sometimes interfere with the locators. Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
Gutted I'm guessing there's a dead fuzzie down there collar attached or a live one holed up with a bunny. Try leaving a ferret box with some straw and liver and kidneys see if you can entice it out to trap it. Can't be anything else. Liam Quote Link to post
iamduvern 62
Whats the stratum in the area you ferret?? Some materials are highly magnetic you may have found a high concentration which could affect your locator eg sandstone, granite which are all magnetic to some degree Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
Were you geting a mark and depth couldn't really be anything but a collar Quote Link to post

shamus 36
its sandy soil ,full of small to medium rocks and layers of gravel. No electric fences nearby. I did consider a ferret but we bolted two rabbits and at least one killed down hole so doesnt seem likely. Absolutely no movement on the reading at all. Quote Link to post
