airdale x greyhound

Recommended Posts

this dog has some airedale in her line all I can say is she is head strong very driven, she drives the rest of the dogs mad .She is probably the most difficult dog I have ever owned.I have a few years dog experience and she is very testing .She is aprox 10 months she will come when called, walk to heel but has to be reinforced almost every step. She will retrieve a dummy but that is about as good as it gets. I,v taken her out on the lamp let her see an older dog work while on a slip.I then took her on her own picked an easy one that she caught with ease but would she retrieve,it is something we will work on during the summer.I know she is still young but I usually have them well mannered by this age,she looks like she is taking the piss when running round in ever faster circles stopping in front of me with her front legs apart looking for all world like she,s laughing at me .I think she will be something a bit special, next year will tell me if its all been worthwhile.

Airdale has nothing to bring to uk lurchers that is not already available, any pure airdales in this country will be generations away from work tested stock. Airdale over a failed grey = another litter of culls advertised on the free ads network.

Actually there are working bred Airedales in this country: brought from the USA. If you read my post you'll see that I waited until I could get a working bred Dale before I got one.

I will rephrase, airdales in this country will PROBABLY be at least one generation away if not more from work tested stock!

got to agree what do they have to offer that a good bull x doesnt? just another flash in the pan breeding project to sell articles in a magazine

I`de say that a good Airedale X will offer all a good Bull X can offer,

I.E. Bone/strenth, prey drive, Brains..!!! size, with the added bonus of good coat,

and the ability to be able to take your dog out in public without Knowing looks from Antis and even other lurcher owners, who most believe that a Bull X is only good for one thing

and all their owners are Knuckle draging chavs....

yes i agree on the slight disguise of the airedale cross gives , but the wheaton his the king of the rough coated terriers he will give you everything the dale gives and more providing the right stock used working brain of quality wheatons are second to none . A combination bull, wheat and possibly bull dale mask alot of the i have a bull type disguise in any form in todays climate aint a bad thing , atb bunnys .

A MAN TALKING SENSE WELL DONE.

A bloody airdale what ever next how about a dulux dog to improve coat. " there are a few up north doing the biz on vermin!" on what vermin ? ?

thed struggle to fit in a front door let alone a hole! and if it doesent live under ground what kind of vermine is it surlie not rats a yorkie could do rats ? an airdale can do nothing a bull greyhound its size couldnt deal with 10 x better ! !

The reason these "northern people" you talk of dont go on the internet is there probablie too retarded to know what a computer is if they keep an airdale for " vermin " !

COME ON SKY CAT if its an accident mating that caused your lurcher as you say, live with it but dont try and kid anyone into thinking a airdale in england is anything bar a pet ! !

Behave! your educated and right books on lurchers for money, I can barley spell but I wouldnt insult people saying an airdale will benifit a lurcher in any way shape or form when there are breeds that still prove thereselfs on real quarie every week.

I dont keep bull x but the boys who do test them and theve been doing there job for years all your doing is putting a dog together in your head, An in " pheory that should be good lurcher " do you graft you airdale cross, do you even own one ? ?

Can't really be bothered with all this any more: so I'll just say this then shut up. The parents of my Airedale were born and bred in the USA, come from working lines: that's all. They are not English KC Airedales: they may not be worked themselves but their breeding was good enough for me to get my Airedale. I've never disrespected any other breed and never pretended an Airedale would bring something totally new to lurchers. There's been plenty of Airedale blood in lurchers in the UK over the years, and KC ones at that. Ask a few old timers and you'll find out. I just happen to really like my Airedale, and she does what I want, so where's the problem?

Just because people don't post on the internet doesn't mean to say they are stupid, in fact I think they're probably a damn sight more sane than me and everyone else who is daft enough to tell the world what they're doing. Bye.
