I have never taken a Lurcher or any other type of catching/drawing Dog out on a digging day. If a Fox bolted it was waved good bye and good luck, see you on a Hunt Day. Then we would get down to the r

Not all of us hunt with hounds SHAMO and we all dont carry guns to acomadate a fox bolting,so its handy to have a lurcher about especially when a fox is doin harm.A farmer or keeper would not be happy

never found a need for them, and personaly don't like having them on a dig,but each to his own,

Ffs you need to write a book the bolox you're coming out with. Pro terrierman shamo what do you do in roots dig through endless wood or let a draw dog in? Or do your terriers dig through oak swell. And bearing in mind were diggin in summer and it won't come forward kapeesh

I know, I always talk bollox, not done a lot of digging. IF you need to take a 'Draw Dog' out with you to get the job done, then that's your business, as long as you get the job done.........don't matter how eh? Summer digger, says a lot! Do what you want, how you want, I was giving my opinion as the guy was asking for them from members. In my OPINION a 'Drawing Dog' or Lurcher is not a necessity and personally 99.9% of the time I haven't needed or wanted one at a dig, the .1% where one has been needed I have made do and struggled on with saws and mattocks...."is all mo fo, kapeesh"....lmao. That's me gettin' down with it, bro.

what do you mean by the summer digging part? i too dig ALL year round,if i didnt,id not have any permition, some of us HAVE to do it in the name of 'GAME BIRD PROTECTION'..

No i dont use a draw dog,ive no need to as i have firearms PLUS am more than capable of handling a fox when need be.

Anyone that is not confident/capable of hadling, should find another sport to pursue and yes,i have been bitten, twice.
