cmuzzy 6
When bring rifle upto aim the crosshairs are there for maybe 5 seconds then they fade until just barely visible any ideas what's causing it and how to go about sorting out thanks . Chris Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Are you using a battery powered one? If so is this when you are using the illumination? Quote Link to post
cmuzzy 6
Hi mole its not battery powered pal , just seems too fade after taking aim , was thinking of maybe moving the scope forwards or backwards to see if that help's with fading of the crosshairs ? . Chris Quote Link to post
ArchieHood 3,692
If its not an IR scope then its not batteries. I think you need to focus the eyepiece against a light coloured background. Turn the eyepiece until the reticle appears sharp and crisp.I think what's happening is its out of focus for your eye and as your eye focuses on the target the reticle starts to fade.Suck it and see. matt_hooks 188
It's down to your eye focussing. You need to adjust the scope so that that cross hairs are in focus at the usual ranges. Nothing to do with anything physical, just the way the eye works. If your head is in the right position, and you get full picture through the scope, then moving the scope back/forward is not going to help. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Could be the problem. Your eye may be looking through the hairs at the background image you are targetting and ignoring the crosshairs! Like the magic eye pictures (remember them??)! Try moving it and also focusing the reticle (aim at a flat, single colour background and focus the ring on the front lens to ensure that the cross hairs are sharply focused then try aiming again)! Check out my post on these new Tasco scopes as well... Tasco scope Edited to say sorry Matt, did not see you had put up about that! Also it is the very front ring, not the zoom ring, it has a +/- marking just behind it! Edited March 5, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
cmuzzy 6
cheers guy's was kinda thinking the scope was shafted , but i'll have a fettle with it tomora in decent light and suss out what's going on , thanks for the advice guys it is much appreciated . ATB Chris Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Hi, mate. The front ring will be the paralax adjuster and that shouldn't cause the problem as you describe it. It's the ring at the very back of the eye piece that adjusts the focus. Cheers. Quote Link to post
