Cleanspade 3,322 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Share Posted January 28, 2011 if thats the fella from the white rose county he must be getting on a bit now. some of my first terriers came from his stuff. and that must be around thirty years ago.i bred a bitch pup useing a dog called ben a strong rough coated black dog with a white flash on his chest. i'm sure his name was ben. owned by a leyland lad. and produced a smooth black bitch that had prick ears. good dogs by all acounts Quote Link to post
techworm 21 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Share Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) if thats the fella from the white rose county he must be getting on a bit now. some of my first terriers came from his stuff. and that must be around thirty years ago.i bred a bitch pup useing a dog called ben a strong rough coated black dog with a white flash on his chest. i'm sure his name was ben. owned by a leyland lad. and produced a smooth black bitch that had prick ears. good dogs by all acounts alan lived in the red rose county, i have never seen any of his dogs he kept, used for ratting or rabbiting. he kept terriers only for earth work and did all the fox control in our area. i remember digging with some of his terriers, some on here may also remember them, "rocky" and "fettler." if you remember them you will realise how long ago that was, he also had some good fox killing lurchers , "billy" a merle greyhound collie was a good dog. he kindly gave me one of his black fell terrier pups and he was a keen worker on fox but sadly suffocated digging on to a big un in his third season. a good terrier man who loved to dig em out.
