Minshaw Lurchers

Recommended Posts

I dont see wat all the fuss is about i mean your better getting a pup of local working lines that way your buying pup for its working ability not becuse of a "brand name" so to speak. Dont get me wrong i see the point when the name carries good blood but there seems to be alot of point being put on whos breeding is in the pup instead of what the working ability of the parents are, i mean half the lurchers and terriers out there everyone claims they are from top working lines, makes you think. JMO though

fair comment there, but there wasnt many "bad" minshaw lurchers, luck of the draw perhaps. from what i can remember "blue" was the first minshaw dog, the godfather of the minshaw strain. quite a few pups were produced by him, a mate local to me had a pup straight ou of blue.

they were bred as hare coursing dog's and these strain of dogs were capable of good bags of hares & rabbits, amongst other things. 70 rabbits in 1 night have been known by a minshaw dog, single handed.

Of course, other dogs will have good bags of stamina, but the point im making is "minshaw" strain is a good working line.

PS; not wishing to cause arguements or upset

Ive been on the fone to my frend and he said the minshaw thread was the bigest looked at thread ever on this site and the trouble was caused by people who were jealous and didnt believe it. My friend is only 14 like me and has his own hunting site now

Yes thats true. There IS NOT going to be a repeat of all the trouble that thread caused, i guarantee it.
but thats no reason why this topic carnt be continued in a sensible fashion ...i for one would like to no more about the minshaw strain and iam sure there are one or two more people would to.. :good:

Yep, thats true, most folk on here know that, and thats why its all NOT going to get raked up again, discuss it on your friends site. If you wish to discuss the dogs and lines.....fine, raking up the arguments will lock this topic.

Minshaw lurchers were "local working lines", local to Cumbria.

If you saw the original Minshaw thread on here, you would have seen top class dogs and pics that speak for themselves.
