hope your mate finds her soon

Not having a row mate no way,a mans dog is missing but he could hear her baying so dig to the bay(the way it was done before the locator),like i say redg'd or not, land owner having a paddy, old bill be

All I know fireman is my sister in law was walking dogs and one of her russels went in a sett she rung a friend to help as husband in army in afgan, her friend come out located dog and was going to dig out when police said he will be arrested for interferring with sett if he starts digging, so if police are prepared to think a lady is badger digging, I'm sure they will be same with men, so what your saying isn't sensible or pratical.

Back to the thread I hope it turns out well.

Still no sign of the bitch, cheers for the positive replies. Fireman you are not on this f*****g planet mate, this earth is huge , it will be 20ft plus everywhere I'd say, the only way we could have the slightest incling of where to start digging is by putting another dog with a collar on and hoping that the dog goes to the bitch, which with the amount of other occupants I'd imagine are in the earth is a big ask. Plus with the Police, farmer etc etc all knowing what is going on, entering another dog would be seen as willingly interfering with a sett. End of.

This may be silly but from a female point of view, do none of these people police included not think about cruelty for the dog still being down there are they really that anti hunt that a female could lose a dog just out walking and not be allowed to get it back. The worlds gone mad. I find that quite worrying as there are loads of badger holes and fox holes around and twice ive come face to face with a baby badger so would hate to think one of my patts may take it in there heads to go and the police could not only cause havoc but lock me up as well. :wallbash:

Sincerely hope you find your dog.

Agree with Fireman 100%.

There was nothing to stop you or your friends standing a bit off the hole and waiting untill she surfaced.

You also said you could hear baying, yet it was 'undiggable', so theres a start.

Its bad enough loosing a worker through no fault of your own, so immagine the guilt when it is 100% your fault.

Just my opinion, hope you get it back in one piece.

My mate lost his patterdale bitch on Thursday afternoon while out exercising her. He found her about 4 or 5 fields away baying in a massive earth, but with digging it being out of the question and her having no locator collar on there was nothing he could could do, he left late that night and returned early the next morning but hasn't heard anything since. Checked with all the local farms aswell as dog wardens etc. and put posters up. The bitch is about 13/14" and stocky built, black smooth coated with a bronze cast, she has a white blaze on her chest. She will probably have fresh wounds with her being in the earth. She has a brown leather whippet collar on. Roughly 5 years old. She was lost between DARLINGTON and SEDGEFIELD in the County Durham area. Any info appreciated PM if preferred. Cheers.

Think I bumped into you last night at a fellas house, you was buying dog food  I remember the area you mentioned, think we over that way saturday morning so we will keep an eye out
