minka79 1
does anybody have any experience on ferriting on council land? what are laws for this ? is there a way of getting permission? Quote Link to post
chimp 299
standard laws but it is a mine field , you need a good insurance but even then the council wont like you killing anything on site in front of passers by ( round here a firm was told it could only live trap) the process of getting it would involve sending in your tender and may even having to go to parish council meeting etc.. it will only take one person to complain and you would lose it all anyway as councils do not need that sort of attention. The one 8,583
There was a guy here that did some for the council but since he died Ive never known anybody touch rabbits that's why if you look at most council land its over run with them ,I tried sending them letters to do there cemeteries and bits and never received a reply back Quote Link to post
web22 27
we got moved on from some council land by the police today,a guy i was with did have verbal permission from someone who used to rent it,but as he no longer rents it you need written permission from the council otherwise you shouldn't be there,we are going to make some phonecalls but aren't expecting much joy... malcy 2
Unfortunatly its true that most councils have a no hunting policy, unless they are over run with vermin species & yes its hard to get permition however when enquiring about permition be it through letter or over the phone i have found that it often helps if you are & state what insurance you have & that most of your pest contol is carried out at night. As to assure that its being done with minimum disturbance & away from the publics veiw. That way they are more likely to grant permition ,but if not keep trying,as you will get more refusals than granted permition.THE HARDEST HUNT IS GETING GRANTED PERMITION BUT IS ALSO THE EASYEST THING TO LOSE. Can it not be classed as pest control rather than hunting? Quote Link to post
