Shooting out of a car???

Hi i have read posts on this forum about people shooting out of a car. I am just wondering when is it legal or illegal to do so??

Legal......On private land with permission

 

Illegal....On any public highway

 

Basically where you can shoot on foot.(within reason)

I'd suggest you phone the police and ask there definition on this ,I shoot out my car at work once a month and thats a university so thats got to be a public place and the police give me a job number every time i phone and tell them im shooting

If a highway crosses your permission you can shoot whilst on the highway, including from a car.

The restriction on shooting from vehicles applies to deer, as it's in the deer acts not general firearms legislation.

 

Of course, you can also commit an offence by discharging a firearm within 50 feet of the centre of a carriageway, where by so doing you cause disturbance or danger to a member of the public, be aware of that.

 

Also obviously it must be somewhere where you have permission.

Perfectly Legal as long as you are on your own permission; assuming you take into account what MATT said regarding public rights of way.

 

I can sit in the middle of the A63 (main road in and out of Hull) and shoot, but if one person THINKS I may cause them harm or they take avoiding action; then I'm up sh!te creek without a paddle
