i use rubber matting on the kennel box floor , easibed chippings on top of that and heatlamps at night and if it goes below freezing there on 24 hours ,the way i see it is it might cost a bit , but i'll only end up paying money out & loosing time building dog backup, if the dog starts going downhill cause it's cold , so i just pay the eleccy bill and dont worry about it cheers

All in one bed (4 soon to be 5), fully enclosed inner boxes raised 4" off the floor (they have a choice of two beds so don't have to share if they don't want to), kennel coats on and bedding made of two thick single duvets piled up so they can tunnel under if they like (which one does).

Fed at night just before it starts to get cold so they have plenty of energy to keep nice and then a tray of warm breakfast in the morning.
