my thoughts to.. outside the ring i cant listen to him... all the greats lost fights i actually felt tysons frustration against holyfeild the amount of times he was nutted and then opened up, the ref

he has the hardest punch on record. :boxing: brain damaging

Just ask Bruno...

i shouldnt do it BUT

Bruno was always a class one fecktard but the thrashing Tyson gave him tipped him over the edge. The dozey git seemed to believe that he really had a chance. Another victim of promoters hype...

as far as I am aware george forman still holds the reckord for the worlds most powerfull punch on reckord but I could well be wrong but I am sure I saw it on a documentry not too long ago. :hmm: and i personaly think tyson in his hay day was one of the best there was certainly better than the micky mouse shit I paid £14 to watch the outher week he would nock the pair of them puffs out. ;)

All the Tyson cheer leaders saying his knock out's were AWESOME!!! Just exactly who did he beat that made him one of THE best ever? The fact is the best fighters he fought wiped the floor with him.

Teddy Atlas was right IMO when he said "Too be great, You've got to stay the course, if you don't stay the course, You're just a shooting star!"

Mike Tyson was excellent coming forward, but just look at how dramatically mediocre he looks when he's pushed back and when his opponent doesn't crumble under the pressure he puts on them. He loses focus and starts throwing single shots in the hope one will land to take the guy out, all the dynamics go straight out of the window.

Sure he was better than good, but IMO he was the most over hyped fighter in the history of the sport.

Of course they were big f*ckers they were heavyweight boxers mate lol and I didn't call Tyson average, I said he was better than a good champion, but just not as good as he is made out to be.

And as far as Single shots doing the business, just look at most of his knockouts, it's combinations of punches that put his opponents out the majority of the time. It took him a rally of 13 punches to put Bruno out in the rematch they had, and he had been landing with punches at will to soften him up before that. He'd put blistering combinations together with speed and power, but that doesn't make you an all time great.

berbick, smith, pinklon thomas, tony tucker, tyrell biggs, tony tubbs,holmes,spinks-- the best that was around and all big names at the time ...if you look at tysons early am and pro fights he was raw -- raised his game during the 80s early 90s fought what was put in front of him during the mid 90s to early 2000 when holyfield and lewis apart the heavyweight scene was at its worst ... as for bruno good honest fighter knew his limits gave brits something to cheer on had many a good night at bruno fights ...

 BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

You're trying to tell me that the heavyweight scene in the 80's was better than what it was in the 90's BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Ridiculous!!!!

Morrison, Mercer, Moorer and those guys were better than those who were juggling the titles amongst each other in the 80's.

Berbick - less than mediocre

Smith - A journey man with a punch

Thomas - even worse

Tucker - not bad but not a career defining opponent

Tyrell Biggs - laughable

Tony Tubbs -

Holmes was a great boxer, but had been out of the ring two years touring around the USA on the piss and singing songs before he fought Tyson without even setting foot into a gym before the fight with Tyson. Had he fought Tyson at HIS best or even after having a year or so shaking off the ring rust and training properly he'd of boxed his ears off!

Spinks - a blown up Light Heavyweight.

Next to what we have today, the 80's was possibly THE worst era in heavyweight boxing history.

imo it is between shavers and big george, the difference was imo tyson had great handspeed.

Tyson had excellent power but could hit you with a combination of punches in fast explosive bursts as well. I don't think he had the one punch power of either of the two men you mentioned but he definitely had cruel power and if his man was still standing after the first one landed the odds were he'd hit him with another 2 or 3 and if you were there to be hit you'd be in trouble.
