bobcullen79 1,495
mora clipper, i have the orange fluresant one , its stainless so you have to keep on top of the edge, but a great nife for a tenner. like the other guys i have had other expensive stuff and lost it, but with this orange thing its hard to do. i have skinned all sorts with it,,, and even use it preparing food in the kitchen heres a linc http://www.lakelandb...ora_Knives.html Not bad knives mate. My mate just got a "Ray mears" jobby from his bushcraft site, they reckon they got the last batch of blades and once they are gone, they`re gone. This could be just the Ray mears edition tho. I think they are the same knife, but the Mears one has a green handle and maybe a motif of some sort. Still prefare my No.7 tho.

bobcullen79 1,495
Treated myself a few years ago to a knife called OLD TIMER it as a gut hook on the end and holds its edge well the sheeth is good quality leather, and is easy to sharpen verdict if looked after it will last a life time The most expensive knife Ive owned was a Buck knife with a gut hook, around the £ mark, let my cousin whittle a stick with it when we were fishing once and he gave it back with a 10p sized hole in the cutting edge-wasnt happy. langouroux 14
for gutting rabbits the only contenders as far I am concerned is a lambs foot...this is because I gut from the sternum down to the belly because its one of the fastest ways to gut imo. And the lambs foot has a blunt back edge so it doesn’t puncture the stomach  For deer I use either Buck knife 110 folding hunter or my opinel depending or which one I have forgotten! haha but I am upgrading to the EKA swing blade asap....fecking amazing! I don’t touch anything with gut hook personally as the hook gets in the way when bleeding deer etc.....not that I shoot enough to worry about it to be honest! haha i also have the carbon steel Mora as well....i took it to south africa with me and all the PH's loved it! TGEvans 4
The Frost Mora knives are great for the money. Opinel Knives are also really, really good. I use a Helle Fjellkniven myself. Around the £70 mark though. I use it for everything. Gutting and preparing of fish and game in the field and kitchen and also all my bushcrafting. Try and get into a shop and get a feel for a few. It needs to feel right in your hand! Tim.
Cleanspade 3,324
old timer do a handy little sheath with a gut hook. good quality. ive never liked the opinals. they do take a good edge but lose it just as quick. the steel is to brittle. buck knifes are a good knife and ideal for what you want it for. if your budget is 50. use it and get the best you can.
