first time ferreting

just had my first taste of ferreting on sunday just started the ferrets off on a couple of small warrens only got 2 rabbits but was a first for me and the ferrets hopefully a will get more next time but a suppose its all experience

That's the way,mate, treat these early sessions as on the job training for both you and your ferrets. Forget the numbers game , going home with all your ferrets and two rabbits is good

It's not about the numbers marra, it's all about getting out there with mother nature and honing your field craft skills, well done on your 2 rabbits though i'm sure they will be a nice meal for the ferrets.

I have only started on my own this year, I got all the gear before venturing out so I wasn't short of anything.

 

I quickly realised it was hard work on your own so got the help of a young lad who beats on out shoot and we have been having some great results.

 

It's a cracking sport and really enjoyable, I can't recommend it enough.

 

Just stick to doing things right and with permission and you will love it.
