Sweeney-Todd 208
To our Mod's Would it be possible to contact BSAC and ask their permission to display this information as a pinned topic here on THL. http://www.basc.org.uk/en/codes-of-practice/air-rifles.cfm It would serve them well with possible new memberships, and help THL along with BSAC to promote Safe Shooting and Gun Handling for the new shooter. Also a good refernce for us all, young or old, new or experienced. Just a thought. ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post

venomviper 129
hi ya bill just to add to that as well i think it's a great idea what you have thought up matey for the forum plus a bird list of everything you can and cant shoot because i have come across a few lads that dont know that some birds are protected even starlings are nowa days pictures of the birds would be betters as names go out of mind i dont know if this would help in anyway shay Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Hi Shay, ALL Birds are protected, we cant shoot ANY of them unless we meet the criteria for the General Licences. Once those criteria are met, then its legal for us to do our thing For example, a we have a good 5 or 6 Maggies in the gardens round here, can't shoot them at all until we have a lawful reason to do so, for example in the spring/summer, when they begin to start attacking the nests of our other birds like Black Birds, etc. Our legitimate reason as required by the G.L's is then "to help preserve our songbird population." Sean pinned up links to the current GL's for us, but again they change by country, for example, we can not shoot Starlings in England, but they can in Scotland. Take care buddy Phantom Quote Link to post
