Recommended Posts

i was out with my mate years ago for hares and his bitch that was 18 months at the time had parvo when it was 8 months old.but it pulled through we put a hare up and slipped the dogs after a few minutes my dog came back so we went over the braw of the hill and his bitch was laying their dead he blamed it on the parvo.[hope the pup pulls through]

Parvo smells like copper type of smell if its that then gauranteed parvo. If not then i may be a bad gut infection or colitis.Fingers crossed for you that its not parvo most dogs pull through just fine if caught early and no long lasting effects.Id keep it isolated and warm make sure its taking fluids in and eating at least.

i live in a Parvo hotspot and have seen this devistating

disease more than enough times.

if its parvo then the vet should have hospitalised the pup and

started treatment immidately.

young pups are less likely to survive parvo than an older vaccinated stronger

dogs. A close friend of mine had a lurcher pup that got parvo it was touch and got for

a while and he pulled thru he leads a happy healthy working life, on the other hand

a bloke i know lost the last 3 pups out of a litter and very nearly the sire to it.

some of my vaccinated dogs have had corona-virus which mimics parvo and can actually make them

really suseptable to the virus.

I really hope your pup makes a full recovery

i no a man who couldnt breed dogs every litter he bred all ended up with parvo,no matter what he washed his kennels down with it still raised its ugly head, what he does now is while the bitch is in pup it gets a jag for parvo,he dont have any bother no more atb

parvo will lie dormant in cracks in the ground and in between flag stones until its next victim comes along best fing to do is pour petrol down and burn the area where the dogs are kept
