These coats are fab, all my 3 have them, if i'm out in the morning and they get wet and cold, then have a day in the car i use them. I've had them over 3 years now and they get loads of use all winter, they still look brand new after hundreds of trips through the washing machine.

IMO you get what you pay for, these are well worth the money and will last the dog a lifetime.

These just slip over the head, there's no belts or buckles to get hooked up on anything either, which makes them safe and hassle free.

A brilliant product.

Thanks for this link, i'm interested myself. Are they kennel jumpers? I'm just thinking when your out walking them that they dont snag on bushes causing them to rip.

Hi, i personally wouldn't walk my dogs in them, mainly for the reasons you've mentioned and i know what my dogs do on a walk! That said i wouldn't walk them in any type of coat, as i just don't think they need them, if they are running about they will be warm enough. Maybe an elderly dog, but then i doubt something that needs a coat on for a walk would be as active asa young dog in bushes etc.

I stick them on after a walk if the dogs are wet and muddy, saves the kitchen getting covered in mud! More for when i'm out and about being it with hounds or other work, my dogs are often in the car . . . .. IMO its the same as horses, after exercise, they need to be kept warm to prevent muscle strains and stiffness.

I do however draw the line at the "leopard skin collar":laugh: . . ,Mine have shooting green and look very smart! ;)

I do like the leopard skin collars

I was thinking more to use in the kennel this winter, I too brought a kennel coat from a greyhound shop and it was utter rubbish, the bow got chewed by the dogs making them look like a clint eastwood throw over, and the material was too thin.

no shame in putting a coat on a dog if it suffers from the cold, part of good stockmanship.

imo only if necessary though, dogs wont harden to the cold (develop thick warm coat) if kept away from the seasonal temperature, jmo
