too right i have.. usually alot of duck around moorings which leads to people feeding them bread,that draws in the bait fish which in turn draw in pike..

i fish alot of moorings.

Yes mate the shoal fish always always seem to shoal up their come winter on the canal i fish and the predators arnt usualy far behind.

One of the best spots on't cut are moorings, just be careful not to splatter boats with deadbaits like some wankers did on my stretch and get fishing in the moorings 'banned'

cheers lads, i went for a quick hour with spinning rod and got a jack, so guna go back at some point, a bit more tooled up!!! they was a few rat bags knocking about though!!

Years ago I used to do a lot of piking, on the cut I always found dead baiting by locks was a sure bet as the fish get drawn to the slightly moving water leaking through the gates.

 

Used to fish the cut thats runs by Bluebell lakes and this was the same, great for pike, superb either on the float or sink and draw
